H D Kumarswamy assures all help to coastal Karnataka

Bengaluru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has said that the state government was closely monitoring the situation in Mangaluru and other parts of Dakshina Kannada district which were battered by heavy rains on Tuesday and has said all possible assistance would be provided.

The Chief Minister has also instructed the Deputy Commissioner to take necessary precautionary steps to mitigate severe damage and prevent loss of lives.

The administration has also been instructed to keep an eye on areas close to the sea shore which are likely to be affected by sea erosion. Adequate relief must be provided to the affected people at the earliest, the CM said and added that senior officials from the state government are in constant touch with the district administration.

CM H D Kumarswamy was criticized by Mangaloreans online as he had not visited nor given any statement regarding floods yesterday.
