Udupi: Deviprasad Shetty, leader of the Hejamady Highway Action Committee which has been spearheading protests against toll collection at the newly opened toll plazas has informed that Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje has assured to discuss the issue with the Chief Secretary on February 27.
The members of the Committee had met Udupi DC Priyanka Mary Francis and MP Shobha separately on February 25, Saturday to make clear its stance that toll collection should be postponed until all issues regarding NH construction were cleared.
MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary who was also part of the delegation. He further warned that protests would resume if the toll collection commenced without completing all works.
