ICT Academy, corporate partners plan 50 centre of excellence colleges in Karnataka

Mangaluru: ICT Academy is an initiative by the Government of India in collaboration with the State Governments and Industries.

ICT Academy is not a profit organization. It is the first of its kind under the public - private - partnership model that endeavors to train higher education faculty members and students thereby developing the next generation faculty members and industry ready students. The organization was formed with representation from the Government and the industry (www.ictacademy.in).

With training of faculty members and students as their primary objective, ICT Academy is redefining the way the educational system works by bringing in innovative global best practices. ICT Academy works with a unique delivery model, infused with domain specific expertise. ICT Academy enables all global enterprises to address a dual mandate to make the current education ecosystem efficient and on par with industry standards and to invest in innovation to unleash the inherent potential in the future workforce.

ICT Academy has been recently endorsed and recommended by (National Institution for Transforming India) NITI Aayog, the national planning body of the Government of India as one of the unique organizations for dissemination and replication, which is aligned to the Skill India Vision of the Government of India. ICT Academy has recently inaugurated their regional offices at New Delhi, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and north eastern state of Guwahati.

As part of this initiative, Srinivas University, here, has become the institutional member of ICT Academy. Through this membership, Srinivas University will be benefitted by faculty development training programmes, skill development programmes for students, youth initiatives, research and industry - institute interaction. Srinivas University is also implementing DellEMC Centre of Academic Excellence - Data Science and Big Data Analytics in their university in association with ICT Academy.

ICT Academy along with DellEMC has designed programmes for technical institutions across the nation to introduce graduating students to Data Science and Big Data Analytics. This initiative equips students with required technical skills to complement their chosen fields of study. By instituting this programme DellEMC seeks a collaborative relationship with universities and institutions in India whereby the students may obtain industrial training and international certifications which could enable employment in firms seeking skilled workers. ICT Academy in association with its corporate partners DellEMC, VMware and Autodesk is planning to set up such 50 centres of excellence in the colleges of Karnataka.

The Institutional Membership Certificate Exchange programme and the inauguration of DellEMC Centre of Academic Excellence - Data Science and Big Data Analytics is scheduled on May 26 at Srinivas University, Mangaluru. M Sivakumar, CEO, ICT Academy will be the chief guest of the programme who will present the membership certificate and DellEMC Centre of Academic Excellence Certificate to the management of Srinivas University. This will be the first Institutional Member Certificate exchange function which will be held in the state of Karnataka.
