Koraga Abhivruddhi Sangagala Okkoota holds dharna

Udupi: Karnataka Forest Tribal Community Union and Koraga Abhivruddhi Sangagala Okkoota members started two days of day-night dharna in front of DC office, Rajathadri Manipal on Monday, October 26.

Sushikala the president of district Koraga Abhivruddhi Sangagala Okkoota committee said that out of the funds earmarked for health scheme for tribals, vehicles were bought for three primary health centres in Vandse, Perdur and Byndoor.

Sushikala said, "Government must think about tuition centers for tribal community children. It should appoint councilor at each taluk level. Education department should be made acountable in child welfare matters. Government should reserve additional fund Rs 2 crore for health check-up and should facilitate smart cards for all members of the community. If the district authority do not respond favourably, we will go for hunger strike from Monday, November 1."

Ranga Koraga, Girija Jannady, Ammanni Chorady, Bhoja Koraga and others were present.
