Mangaluru: A woman named Geetha Shenoy who resides at Nagori in Mangaluru has been accused of cheating over 300 people after collecting money from them with a promise of offering government jobs.
It has been gathered that she used to make people believe that she was an employee at the DC office.
Durga Sene volunteers who came to know about the cheating done by Geetha and brought her to the Women’s Police Station from where she was later taken to Bunder station. Geetha spoke to the affected people in the presence of the police personnel and assured to return their money.
Geetha is said to be from Udyavar in Udupi. She is currently residing in Nagori.
