Hassan: In what could have been a major tragedy, a private sleeper coach that was moving to Bengaluru from Mangaluru caught fire at after midnight in the outskirts of the town. However luckily no one was hurt.
The bus was completely charred in the flames which engulfed it. The incident happened near Kanchatahalli village on national highway 75. The bus was carrying over 30 passengers when fire got ignited all of a sudden.
The driver noticed the fire first and took immediate steps to evacuate the passengers. Therefore, loss of life and injury were averted. Due to technical problems in the engine, it would have started fire. Arrangements were made to take passengers to Bengaluru by other buses.
