Mangaluru (The Hindu): The district police have convened a meeting on safety of school vehicles at Puttur on June 26 in the backdrop of the recent accident at Trasi in Udupi district. The meeting, to be held at Bantara Bhavana, Kombettu, near Puttur Stadium from 11 a.m., will discuss the steps to be taken to ensure safety of children travelling to schools.
It will be attended by the Assistant Commissioner of Puttur sub-division, regional transport officers of Mangaluru and Puttur, officials from the Education Department, private bus owners’ association representatives, drivers and owners of cabs as well as parents.
