Udupi (The Hindu):Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of the Paryaya Pejawar Mutt conferred the ‘Rashtra Ratna Prashasti’ instituted by the Mutt, to the founder of Infosys N.R. Narayana Murthy here on Saturday.
The Managing Director and CEO of Karnataka Bank Ltd. P. Jayarama Bhat and the Managing Director of Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) Chikkananjappa were also felicitated on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Pejawar seer said that Mr. Narayana Murthy had attained a stellar position in the Information Technology sector. He had put Bengaluru on the map of world as far as IT sector was concerned. The Pejawar Mutt had instituted the Rashtra Ratna Prashasti, which was the highest award of the Mutt. This first Rashtra Ratna Prashasti was being given to Mr. Narayana Murthy, he said.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Narayana Murthy said that he was delighted and enthused at getting the award. He would try to come to the expectations of the Pejawar seer. He would work hard, sincerely and honestly, he said.
