Kasaragod: A new Passport Seva Kendra will become operational from April 1, 2017, as Kasargod, thereby fulfilling the long pending demands of people from the district and adjoining areas.
On a trial basis, the Seva Kendra functioned on March 29. Ten applicants had been submitted and three appeared in the office during verification process to avail passport and other services through the new Kendra.
Around 12 people will be employed at the Kendra including four staff members. In the initial stages, 10 applications will be processed in a day which is likely to be increased to 150 by August 15, confirmed officials at the Kendra.
