Mangaluru: Passengers travelling in a private bus of Route No. 59, which was heading towards Mangaluru from Suratkal had a miraculous escape when the driver in his hurry to overtake another vehicle rammed the bus straight into the Kulur bridge embankment on Monday morning.
The embankment is broken due to the impact of the collision. Almost half of the body of the bus had moved out of the bridge before the vehicle came to an abrupt halt.
There were many passengers in the bus when the mishap took place. The bus was later lifted from the spot using a crane by the police and fire service personnel.
