Mangaluru: The Rafale fighter aircraft deal worth over Rs 40,000 crore is the biggest scam of the century, said President of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance and former chief minister M Veerappa Moily.
Speaking to reporters at Circuit House here, he said, "Opposition parties have been vehemently demanding that Joint Parliamentary Committee should probe into the irregularities, but the NDA government was hesitating. There was no need to maintain secrecy on the issue of the price of the purchased aircrafts, but the NDA government was trying to hush up the scam on the pretext of confidentiality. The Congress has launched a nationwide campaign against this."
"The Congress would highlight this issue during the upcoming Lok Sabha polls ; instead of the promised Achhe Din, we are seeing Bure Din under Modi rule, he added.
