Mangaluru: The Tulunadu Rakshana Vedike staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on November 1, to pressurise the government to include Tulu in the eighth schedule of the constitution and thereby fulfill a long pending demand of the region.
As we all know, November 1 is celebrated as Kannada Rajyotsava. To make the issue known to goivernment, the members of Vedike decided to protest on the said date.
Several activists of the Vedike including its President Yogish Shetty Jeppu took part in the protest. The Vedike has also been demanding the merger of Kasargod with Karnataka.
