Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai has said that he would file a defamation suit against BJP member Harikrishna Bantwal for making baseless allegations of land grab against him.
Rai said that he has already placed facts along with documents before the media to prove that he was not involved in any land grab. He said as Harikrishna continued to hurl allegations even after his clarification, he decided to fight legally and will file defamation suit against Harikrishna Bantwal.
Harikrishna alleged that Rai has got 2.04 acres of government land under survey no. 20/2 in Mani village and one acre under surveyNo. 38/2 wrongly sanctioned for himself. A total of 3.04 acres have been annexed by Rai wrongly in violation of law in the name of his wife. In the sanction letter too, the beneficiary's name has been mentioned as Shaila R Rai at one place and Dhanabhagya R Rai in another, with the tacit aim of cheating the government, Harikrishna had alleged.
