Puttur: Retired Assistant Sub-Inspector ended life by hanging himself from a tree in a forest area at Meginapanja on Tuesday.
The deceased is identified as Shesappa Poojary of Kunjoorupanja in Puttur. He was staying at a rented house in Parladaka. He had served in Puttur Town Police station, Vittal and Pandeshwar police stations.
His body was found hanging from a tree at Meginapanja forest area. The reason for the extreme step is not known. Shesappa Poojary is survived by wife and two sons.
A case has been registered and investigations are underway.
