Mangaluru (The Hindu) All schools and colleges in Dakshina Kannada will remain closed on Saturday, according to A.B. Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner. It is in view of tense situation in the district after the murder of a youth at Manihalla in Bantwal taluk and stone throwing incident at B C Road on Thursday.
Mangalore University has postponed its undergraduate examinations scheduled on November 14. According to B Narayana, Registrar (Evaluation) the rescheduled date of the examinations postponed would announced later.
Habba postponed
The two-day Makkala Habba scheduled to begin at Dr. Shivarama Karantha Pilikula Nisargadhama here has also been postponed indefinitely. The habba had been scheduled to observe the Children’ Day. According to S.A. Prabhakara Sharma, executive director of the nisargadhama, rescheduled dates have not been fixed. The two-day event covered various activities like painting, sand sculpture, slow-cycle race, treasure hunt one-act plays, mimicry, street plays, mono acting, astronomy show, quiz and the like.
Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy has postponed its Tulu Minadana programme scheduled at Vitala Pre-University College, Vitla on November 16, a release said.
