Udupi: A scooter rider was crushed under the wheels of a ten-wheel container after the container came in contact with his vehicle and he fell onto the road. The accident happened at Kallianpur Santhekatte. The deceased is Gangadhar Kanchan (63) from K G Road near.
Gangadhar was on his way to the city from his village, when a container unexpectedly turned left without any indication whilst crossing the barricade at Santhekatte. Even after Kanchan got stuck in the wheel of the vehicle, he was dragged away for some distance as the driver was not aware of it.
Later, two cranes were used to move the container aside and bring out the body that was stuck underneath, the police stated. A case about this accident was registered in the traffic police station.
