Kundapur: Shobha Karandlaje, MP of Udupi-Chikkamagaluru dismissed the allegation by opposition parties regarding Modi led government ignoring Lodagu flood effects.
"The MPs of Karnataka have appraised the horrible devastation of Kodagu district in the recent deluge and subsequent landslides to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he has taken a stock of the situation through defence minister Nirmala Sitaraman, who was sent to Kodagu to assess the ground reality. The accusation that the centre has ignored the victims of Kodagu deluge is not right," said .
"A special grant has been already given to Kodagu. The houses for those who have lost their homes, will be done on an emergency basis using the joint grant of centre and state under 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana' (PMAY-G)," she added.
