Bantwal: Headmistress of Government Higher Primary School in Ajjinadka in Bantwal has been booked after she allegedly beat up class four children for not doing homework on Friday. Sharada had mercilessly beaten up all children in the class for not completing their homework. However, only one student came forward to lodge a complaint, based on which a case has been registered at Ullal police station.

Childline volunteers told media that the incident took around 2.30pm on Friday when Sharada was teaching children of fourth standard. She found that children, who mostly belong to poor families, did not complete their homework. Irked over not completing the homework, she started beating them with cane.

The kid stood outside the house near a well till father came and enquired the reason. The child showed father bruises all over the body. Following this, he took the child to a nearby private hospital and in the meantime some neighbours present at spot informed the Childline. Members of the Childline visited the spot and asked parents to file a complaint at jurisdictional police station.
