Trivial argument leads to death of fisherman

Kundapur: Prakash Poojay lost his life after he drowned. He used to work for a fishing boat owned by Ganesh Kharvi. For emptying the catch of fish from the boat, Prakash had tied a rope to SMP Boat that was anchored nearby, for the purpose of stabilizing his boat.

On this issue, verbal altercation happened between Prakash and driver of SMP Boat, Chandrakanth. At one stage, Prakash went into SMP fishing boat. Chandrkanth posed him death threat and hit him hard with a piece of wooden plank found in his boat.

Prakash lost his balance as a result, fell into the river, and drowned. His mortal remains was found on Saturday evening in the sea at Belikeri near Gangolli. A case of murder has been registered.
