Two-day seminar on paediatric anaesthesia held at Nitte

Mangaluru: A two-day continued education programme on paediatric anaesthesia was held at K S Hegde Hospital, Nitte University on July 9 and 10.

After inaugurating the event, Dr M S Moodithaya, registrar, Nitte University said, “It is difficult to keep abreast of the things in 21st century due to rapid advances in science. If anyone has to attempt to update, he has to unlearn, learn and relearn on daily basis.”

Chief guest, Dr K M Venkatagiri, National Secretary of Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, emphasized need for eternal vigilance on the part of anaesthesiologists while anaesthetising children in preventing untoward incidents.

He also stressed need for updating one's knowledge and skills for delivering anaesthesia care for small children who are different from adults physiologically.

Dean, K S Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) wished best to the faculty gathered from different parts of the country and delegates arrived from all over the state.

Dr Prakash Rao, vice dean and professor and head of the department of general medicine, presided over the event.

Dr Abdul Hameed, treasurer, Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, Dr Ananda Bangera, Prof and head of Anaesthesiology, K S Hegde Hospital, Dr Sripada G Mehandale, secretary ISA Karnataka State Branch, Dr Gayathri Bhat, president were present.
Organising chairman of KSHEMA PACE 2016, Dr Raveendra U S welcomed the gathering. Dr Muralishankar Bhat, organising secretary, proposed vote of thanks.

More than one hundred delegates from all over the state attended the event to enrich their knowledge.
