Udupi: A woman who allegedly kidnapped and assaulted a six year old girl from Bagalkot was arrested by the police.
The accused has been identified as Geetha (42) from Uppunda. The girl was the daughter of Asha of Hanuganda in Bagalkot and had come with her father to see her father who is undergoing treatment in the hospital since the past three weeks.
Geetha lured the girl who was playing by herself, by offering her chocolate and later took her to her rental house at Kinnimulki where she allegedly assaulted the girl. Meanwhile, when locals grew suspicious on hearing the girl’s cries , the woman realising that she would be in for trouble took the girl back to the hospital.
The woman was then handed over to the police. The CCTV footage of the hospital showed the woman walking away with the child. Local police are conducting the investigations.
