Udupi: In a tragic incident, a woman was fatally run over by a speeding lorry while she was crossing the road at Brahmavar Junction on Saturday. The deceased woman is Geetha (36). She was a resident of Hangarakatte. The mishap took place when Geetha along with her husband Subrahmanya and child was on way to a clinic.
The child was with Subrahmanya and they both had crossed the road with Geetha following them. However, before she could cross the road, the lorry had hit her killing her on the spot.
The lorry had rammed into the divider before hitting the woman. A case has been registered by Brahmavar Police.
