Young scientist from Udupi dies due to brain haemorrhage

Udupi: In a tragic incident, a young scientist of Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru, and ornithologist, Harish Bhat (46), from Udyavar, breathed his last. He was on a visit to provide guidance to Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district level science exhibition and competition being held at Alva's, Moodbidri.

After holding consultation with lecturers, Bhat had discussed all the issues with chairman of Alva's Foundation, Dr M Mohan Alva, and had lunch with him. When he came back to the venue of the exhibition sometime later, at around 2.45 pm, he collapsed to the ground.

Immediately he was admitted into a local hospital. However, as his condition was precarious, he was rushed to a private hospital at Mangaluru. The doctors said that Bhat died of acute brain haemorrhage.
