Youth Cong demands farm loan waiver from Centre

Mangaluru: The DK District unit of the Youth Congress staged a protest in front of the State Bank of India office demanding the Union Government to waive farm loans.

Addressing the protestors, District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai said, "The State Congress Government has waived farm loans upto Rs 50,000 advanced by co-operative societies, but the Central Government has so far not thought about waiving loans of farmers. The Centre is only interested in protecting the interests of capitalist forces. It looks like PM Modi is running giovernment for corporates. He does not care for farmers."

Praising CM Siddarammaih, Mithun said, "Siddarammaih is farmers leader. He has worked for the upliftment of farmers. He is a farmers leader. I hope Modi learn form our CM and works for farmers, instead of corporates."

J Saleem, President of Mangaluru South Block Congress, Meryl Rego, President of Block Youth Congress, Abdul, NSUI District Chief, Naveen D’Souza, Praveen Chandra Alva, Corporators and many others were present.
