Passenger forced to pay for broken glass window

Puttur: Ganesh, resident of Bannur in Puttur was travelling from Hassan to Uppinangadi in a KSRTC bus on Monday, September 19. The bus with registered number KA 19 F 2801 was plying the Bengaluru - Kundapur route, when at Nelyadi, the glass window at Ganesh's seat broke all of a sudden.

Ganesh was asked to pay up for the damage, while he reiterated that he had nothing to do with the damage and refused to pay. The conductor pressed on the demand for compensation, warning Ganesh about the matter being taken to the authorities. As the bus pulled up at Uppinangadi, Ganesh was made to pay up before stepping out.

Ganesh, who spoke to the media later, wanted to know why passengers ought to pay for damages of the bus during the time of travel.
