Kundapur: A bike rider lost his life when a bus collided with his two-wheeler on the National Highway 66 at Tallur on Saturday.
The deceased is Ravindra Acharya (36) of Neralakatte. He was heading towards Hemmady from Kundapur when the speeding bus rammed into his bike. Hemmady was on way to a wood industry in Hemmady where he was employed, when tragedy struck.
Ravindra Acharya was married a year ago and is survived by his wife and child. A case has been registered by Kundapur Traffic Police.
Sullia: A motor bike rider was killed near Aramboor on Sunday evening after his vehicle was hit by a car. The deceased has been identified as Manohar Poojarimane (48) from Aranthodu village.
Manohar was moving in his two-wheeler towards Aranthodu from the town when the accident happened. The killer car was trying to overtake another car near Aranthodu Paladka when it collided with the motor bike. Manohar, who suffered grievous injuries in the accident, breathed his last on the spot. He was working for Mallikarjun Industrial Co at Jattipalla.
The deceased has left behind wife and two sons. A case has been registered.
Karkala: In an accident which happened at Ayyappa Nagar in Kukkundoor village, a bus hit a motor bike, killing the rider instantly. The accident had happened on the night of Friday May 25.
The deceased has been identified as Hariyanna Nayak. The bus was moving towards the town from the direction of Udupi reportedly hit the motor bike that was coming from opposite direction. Hariyanna, who was critically injured in the accident, was taken to Manipal Hospital but he did not survive the journey to Manipal, it is learnt.
A case relating to this accident was registered in the town police station here.
Bantwal: In a tragic accident, a young bike rider was killed when an auto rickshaw collided with his bike at Kolake Barke in Sajipa Mooda village.
Manvith is the deceased. As the area where the accident took place is desolated, the auto rickshaw escaped from the spot after colliding with the bike. Later the auto rickshaw that caused the accident was spotted with the help of the public.
Manvith, who was severely injured in the accident, was taken to hospital immediately. However, he succumbed to his injuries.
