2 women dead in bus accident

Hassan: Two women lost their lives and over 10 passengers sustained injuries in a head-on collision between a KSRTC bus and a government bus at Yedaguru near Hassan on Tuesday. The KSRTC bus was heading towards Bengaluru from Udupi, andthe private Durgamba bus was proceeding towards Mangaluru from Bengaluru.

The deceased have been identified as Yashoda (44) who was travelling in Durgamba bus and Fathima Sameera (28) from Chengala in Kasargod who was in the KSRTC bus.

The injured have been identified as Abdul Salam (57) from Chengala who is the father of the deceased Fathima, Ravikumar (33) from Kabaka Puttur, Satish Kamath(60) from Kadri, Naveen Prakash (35) from Bommabettu, Narayana (40) from Malleshwaram and Shanan (21) from Attavar.

Overspeeding of bus is said to be reason of accident.
