20-year-old duped of Rs 1,20,100

Udupi: A-20-year-old young girl was duped of Rs 1, 20,000 by a youth in the pretext of providing a seat in air force training. A complaint regarding this has been lodged in Udupi women’s police station against the youth named Rajath. The girl alleged that Rajath introduced himself to her over phone, after which he took Rs 1, 20,000 from her by promising her of providing a seat in air force training.

Thereafter when girl was in Bengaluru, Rajath allegedly took her to his house in JP Nagar and misbehaved with her. Until August 2016 Rajath used to pressurise Nidhi to come to Bengaluru over the phone after which he has been absconding.

Lately in October when Nidhi learnt that Rajath hails from Kadekar in Udupi, she lodged a complaint against him. Udupi women’s police have registered complaint under section IPC 420 and 354.
