25-year-old killed in bus-bike collision

Udupi: In a tragic incident, a 25-year-old youth lost his life in accident at Malpe.

The deceased has been identified as Manjunath Naik (25), a resident of Someshwar in Hebri.

Manjunath was riding from Malpe towards Hoode while the bus, plying from Hoode to Malpe rammed into his bike. The accident took place just 300 metres from the police station. On receiving information, Malpe SI Madhu rushed to the spot and shifted a critically injured Manjunath to hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Manjunath was wearing a helmet of poor quality. The helmet split open due to the impact of the accident. Manjunath was unmarried and was employed in the tile business.
