27-year-old dies on NH 75

Puttur: A truck hit a Honda Activa two-wheeler near the petrol bunk at Addahole near Nelyady on national highway 75 on Monday February 15 evening resulting in death of the rider. The deceased is Ibrahim , a resident of Sakleshpur.

Ibrahim's younger sister, Safiya (24), was riding the pillion survived with serious injuries. Safiya has been admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru.

The scooter rider was wearing a helmet, but the force of the accident so strong that it got smashed into pieces, and the rider suffered deadly injuries to his head.

The truck bearing Andhra Pradesh registration number which caused the accident fled from the scene. Some people from Gundia, who came to know about the incident, immediately chased the truck, intercepted it near Maranahalli near Sakleshpur, and brought the driver and cleaner along with the vehicle back to the spot of the accident. Both were then handed over to Uppinangady police.
