Published On : 05 Feb 2016

Mangaluru: In a tragic accident which occurred on Wednesday February 3, a motor bike rider fell down from the railway over-bridge at Bykampady on national highway 66, and got killed. The deceased has been identified as Naveen Rai, a resident of Krishnapura fifth block.

Naveen was returning home after his duty shift hours during the night, and failed to notice that there is a steep bend near this over-bridge. Although there is a huge pit near the railway bridge, no warning signs or barricades have been set up. Locals accused the department of highways of being responsible for causing this accident by its negligent stance.

Before this accident, a truck had gone out of its driver's control and hit the protective wall at the same spot.
