3 from DK to participate in International Taekwondo Championship at China

Mangaluru: 3 students of Sharada Vidyanikethana Public School are all set to represent India in International Taekwondo Championship to be held at Qingdao, China from April 27 to May 3, 2017.

Fifteen players will be representing India in International Championship from various parts of the country and out of which Mangaluru based 3 players, Shashank R- II PU (Junior, 55kg weight category), Prajwal K, Class X (Cadet, 48 kg weight category), Nishanth Kotian, Class X (Cadet, 50kg weight category) were selected by the selection committee of national federation.

Sharada Vidyanikethana provides exposure to students in Taekwondo Championships and students are continuously participating in different levels of Taekwondo Championships. The players are also representing Dakshina Kannada district for the first time in an international level championship. B.M. Krishna Murthy is the national team coach and Gururaj Itagi, school taekwondo coach have also qualified as assistant coach for the Indian team.
