30-year-old killed in road accident

Udupi, Jan 30: A 30-year-old motor bike rider was killed in a road accident involving goods auto rickshaw near Barkur on the night of Thursday June 28.

The deceased is Basavaraj, son of Devanand Natekar, residing in a rented house in Heroor. He lost his life in this accident. Basavaraj was moving in his two-wheeler to Hanehalli when a goods rickshaw driven by Ummer Farooq from the direction of Barkur Junction hit him near Barkur.

Basavaraj, who fell to the road along with his vehicle, suffered serious injuries. He breathed his last when being taken to hospital. Ummer Farooq too suffered injuries in the accident.
