Udupi: In a miraculous incident, a 32-year-old woman remained alive sleeping beside the decomposed body of her father who had apparently got into a suicide pact five days ago.
As the light in the house in Bailoor NGO colony was on for the last five days locals, who grew suspicious with the stink, broke the door and entered the house, they found father and daughter lying on the floor. They thought both were dead. But later it was discovered that the daughter was alive.
The father is identified as Anantha Poojary (65) and the surviving daughter is
Vinutha (32). Vinutha was rushed to Manipal hospital for treatment.
The real cause of Anantha Poojary’s death is not known. The daughter might have collapsed with shock after her father died. Vinutha is recovering in the ICU of the hospital.
