43rd Foundation Day of Mangalore University

Mangalore, September 29: Mangalore University, which has a different place in the global map including India, celebrated its 43rd foundation day and on this auspicious occasion, the university honored and congratulated dozens of dignitaries who have achieved great service in various fields and social service.

Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. P. Subrahmanya Yadapaditaya presided the ceremony, Bunts Sangh Mumbai Hon.Gen.Secretary, Karnataka Janapada Parishad Bangalore President of its Maharashtra unit, Karnataka Rajyotsava awardee Dr. R.K Shetty, Hairstylist of international fame through Hairstylo, Managing Director of Shivas Hair Designers Pvt Ltd, recipient of 'India Honorary Lifetime Award' at the British Parliament House, London. Shivaram Krishna Bhandary, Karnataka Government Karnataka Media Academy 2014 Annual Award'', ``Best Indian Journalist'' award winner well-known journalist and President of Kannadiga Patrakartara Association Maharashtra Rons Bantwal and around twenty five achievers honored and congratulated traditionally by the Chief Guest MLA (MLC) S. .L Bhoje Gowda.

In the ceremony, Padma Shri Amai Mahalinga Nayka, International trainer Dr. Bharat Chandra, Clan Ministers CK Kishore Kumar, Prof. P. L Dharma, Prof. K.S Jayappa, Convenor Prof. Manjunath Pattabi, Prof Anuradha S.Yadapadithaya, Advocate Aruna Kishore were present and honored the achievers and wished them well.

Mangalore University was started at Konaje in 1968 from the Center of Mysore University. Established as an independent Vishwa Vidyanilayam on 10th September 1980 with the motto 'Gyanvae Belaku', Vishwa Vidyanilayam has been successfully fulfilling the higher education aspirations of people in the undivided Dakshina Kannada (present-day Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts) and Kodagu districts since its inception. It is a matter of pride that Mangalore University, which has made high achievements in academic, research, cultural, sports and social fields, has taken a different place not only in India, but also in the global map, Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University Prof. P. Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya said.

 With the good intention of responding to all those who have worked hard for the birth and development of the University, our University has been celebrating the foundation day every year in a very meaningful way. As the main part of this program, it is our tradition to honor those who have achieved great service in various fields such as education, art, sports, environment, research, social service in the presence of dignitaries. Likewise, this time we have unanimously selected the achievers who have made unique contributions to commerce and social service and honored them on the occasion of the Foundation Day, said Vice Chancellor Prof. P. Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya said.

At the beginning of the program, Nada Gita, National Anthem and Vishwa Vidyalaya Namana Gita has been sang. International trainer Dr Bharat Chandra, Convenor Prof. Manjunath Pattabi welcomed the gathering. Dr. Dhananjaya Kumble introduced and congratulated the awardees. Prof.Preeti D'Souza presented the program and gave the vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
