63-year-old arrested for keeping explosives to hunt wild animals

Bantwal: Police have successfully arrested a person in Karopady who was suspected to have kept explosives for hunting wild animals and had caused the death of a cow who had gone there for grazing recenty.

The arrested has been identified as Govinda Naika(63) a resident of Chellangar, Karopady. He is arrested on the basis of a complaint that he is involved in the crime.

The four years old cow Oppi, belonging to Radhakrishna Mooly died on Chellangar hill after the explosive kept to kill wild animals exploded tearing the face of the cow apart. A police complaint of the loss of Rs 20,000 due to death of the cow was registered in Vitla police station.
