70-year-old man slips into well and dies

Puttur: In a tragic incident, Krishna Bhat (70) from Arama in Kanchana, accidentally slipped while returning, and fell into a well to his doom. This incident occurred at Tirle in Konalu village on Sunday June 28.

His grandson wished to eat some delicious food, Krishna Bhat went away to the nearby town at around 8 pm. He had not returned home thereafter.

Searches conducted during the entire night did not yield any results. On Monday morning, someone saw that footwear and cigarette lighter were floating in the water of an open well near Bhat's house located in the garden. The family members grew suspicious, and called fire brigade.

Fire brigade personnel who came there succeeded in retrieving the body of Krishna Bhat from the depths of the well, it is gathered. On the basis of a report filed by Ashok Bhat, a case was registered in Uppinangady station.
