Brahmavar: In an act of exemplary kindness, the Crossland College has decided to help an elderly couple in Chanthar by constructing a house for them. The final year students of Batch 2016-17 had approached alumni and philanthropists, requesting for building materials and many have agreed to help. They also participated in the ‘Vesha’ during Ganesha festival last year and collected money for the purpose. The construction has started and will be in full swing after the monsoon season this year. Both students and NSS volunteers will be involved in the construction work. The teachers are indeed excited to see that the effort in inculcating values in students have paid off.

“When Mr. PrashanthKulal and a few of his friends came up with this suggestion to help an elderly couple by constructing a house for them, I was deeply moved and thrilled. I felt pleased that we could inculcate such strong values in our students, thereby, making them sensitive to the needs of the community around them.” said the Principal, who is equally excited about the project.

Along with academic learning, the college has been actively involved in various service learning projects, wherein students teach English to the school students of nearby areas. Recently, they also contributed Rs. 18,000 to a child undergoing treatment in KMC, Manipal.
