Kateel Shree Durga Parameshwari temple “One amongst those ancient & world famous temples is , considered as a pride by the people of Dakshina Kannada. This temple has a innumerable devotees who come from all over the world and seek her blessings, also ranks 4thplace in Karnataka in terms of Revenue from Devotees. The Goddess is amidst a beautiful greenery which is well known as “Bhramari Sanidhya “ ( goddess worshipped in the form of bee ). With her blessings today we are a step ahead by starting a new multi-specialty hospital “ Durga Sanjeevani Manipal “ with all the new technologies to serve the people in need.

This hospital is a dream project by 3 key visionaries - Dr. Suresh Rao Awell knownGeneral Surgeon from Mumbai with his roots from Kateel who is owning Sanjeevani Trust, Kateel Shree Durga Parameshwari trust and Manipal Academy Of Higher Education (MAHE). Dr. Suresh Rao’s dream was to have a multi-speciality hospital in his home town, which is actually Kateel. By the support of Manipal Academy Of Higher Education (MAHE) this hospital is being established.

Durga Sanjeevani Manipal Hospital has a proximity to Mangalore International Airport of 14kms, to beach& New Mangalore port of 29kms and to the well-known ALVAS Educational Institution of 22kms.

The community of people in and around Kateel are those with low wages, agriculturist and those with small scale business. Apart from small clinics , presently there is no facility of hospitals in and around 20 villages around kateel. And so incase of accidents and emergencies people have to rush all the way to Surathkal, Mangalore or Manipal. In this way a great need of the people from many years is on its way of completion.

With the direction of Dr. Suresh Rao of Sanjeevani Charitable Trust and in association with Shree Durga Parameshwari trust and Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) this project is being established. The project is undertaken under the quality guidance from MAHE, the Mother Institutions of KMC Hospital Attavar, Dr. TMA Pai Hospitals in Udupi & Karkala as well as Kasturba Hospital Manipal. Manipal Academy of Higher Educationisworking towards the successful execution of the project and will bemanaging with well qualified Doctors, technicians and latest Healthcare technologies to serve the people through a well experienced Team of KMC Hospital Attavar.

On 19-02-2017 the foundation stone of Durga Sanjeevani Manipal Hospital was laid and presently it will be available for Service of People Shortly. This hospital is in built within 1.5 acres of land with good parking areas.

It is a hospital with 3 story , provision for nearly 100 beds, Doctors from all specialisations like Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, ENT , General medicine and children specialisation . As a part of multi-speciality hospital it has a Trauma centre, ICU and a Mortuary, a 24x7 working laboratory, a Pharmacy and also provisions for Accommodation of of Doctors & Staff.

The main intention ofDurga Sanjeevani Manipal hospital is to provide good facility, Quality treatment and healthcare at an affordable price to the people of Kateel Surroundings.
