Mangaluru: People of Mangaluru who were fed up of receiving only Rs 2000 notes in the ATMs and banks are now a relieved lot with some ATMs dispensing Rs 500 and Rs 100 notes from Monday.

It has been gathered that the Reserve Bank of India has instructed banks to use the 500 notes to be dispensed through ATMs rather than issuing it in counters. Canara Bank sources said Rs 500, Rs 100 and Rs 2000 notes are now available in some ATMs.

Presently, most ATMs are functioning. But the withdrawal limits in banks and ATMs have remained unchanged.
