Alva's Hosts Hackathon - 2018

Mangaluru: The Department of Computer Science & Engineering in association with Science Society of India (SSI), Bengaluru organized one-day Alva’s Hackathon-2018 on March 17th & 18th, 2018 at Alva’s Institute of Engineering & Technology, Moodbidri. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Narayan Iyer, President , Science Society of India (SSI), Bengaluru.

In his inaugural address, Mr Iyer said, " Nowadays people use internet for their financial transactions . However, it is not secure as there is always a threat of hackers. Therefore, students need to learn how to make coding in web based transactions securely. In Alva’s Hackathon-2018, students have to initially present their ideas on two subjects, namely, App Development and Hack it Demo. The jury committee will decide the Winners ofthe event."

Mr. Vivek Alva, Managing Trustee, presided over the function. He emphasized that practical knowledge will ensure students' efficiency and success in job market today.

Around 20 teams consisting of 80 participants took part in the event. Mr. Rakesh Choudary, Software Engineer, Synopsis and Mr. Sannith Shetty, Software Engineer, Tech Jini Soft, Bengaluru were the event-mentors.

Dr. Manjunath Kotari, HOD CSE, Faculty coordinator Mr. Hemanth Kumar N.P. and all faculty members and students of the department were present during the program.
