Annual Feast of St Philomena celebrated at Puttur

Puttur: Divya Chethana Association of St Philomena College and St Philomena PU College Puttur celebrated Annual Feast of Patron St Philomena on August 10, 2019 in college auditorium.

The Secretary of Catholic Board of Education, Mangalore Rev. Fr Antony Michael Shera participated as the main celebrant. He said, ‘St Philomena is a great Saint. We are all under her shelter. Every Saint has his own past. God expects all of us to be holy. Holiness is not one time affair. It comes from our continuous efforts. We should become more generous. Then God surely will bless us. All of us must imitate the good qualities of St Philomena and achieve great success.’

The Correspondent Very Rev. Fr Alfred J Pinto expressed the best wishes. The Campus Director Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro acknowledged the support extended by donors and well wishers.

The Principal of St Philomena PU College Rev. Fr. Vijay Lobo, Parish Priest of Maril Church Rev. Fr Valerian Frank, Parish Priest of Bannur Church Rev. Fr Prashanth Fernandes, Rector of Santhome Guru Mandira Minor Seminary Rev. Fr Sunny Mathew, Parish Priest of Panja Church Rev. Fr Amith Rodrigues, Assistant Professor of PG Studies in Commerce Rev. Fr Sunil George D’Souza, Assistant Priest of Mae De Deus Church Rev. Fr Larry Pinto and others participated in this sacred event.

The second part of this programme consisted of various cultural items. The Principal Prof. Leo Noronha, faculty members and the students of St Philomena PU and Degree College have participated in this programme. The Director of Divya Chethana Association Rev. Fr Rithesh Rodrigues coordinated the programme.
