Annual Training Camp concluded at St Philomena College Puttur

Puttur: The valedictory function of 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp for NCC Cadets organized by 19 Karnataka Bettalion Madikeri was held on December 11, 2016 at St Philomena College auditorium.

The Charlie Company was emerged as the overall Champions in the Camp. The Commanding Officer, 19 Karnataka Bettalion Madikeri, Col. Sanjay Dutta felicitated the prize winners in various competitions.

The Correspondent of the College Rev. Fr Alfred J Pinto complimented the 19 Karnataka Bettalion Col. Sanjay Dutta for organizing Annual Training Camp in St Philomena College. He said, ‘NCC would impart discipline and values among the youth.’

The Campus Director Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro said, ‘The discipline and hard work of the cadets in the Training Camp are commendable.’

The Principal Prof. Leo Noronha congratulated all the NCC officials and cadets for making the Training Camp a successful one. He said, ‘In Armed Forces, it is not the material that matters, but it is the men that really matters. Men in uniform are the pride of the Nation.’

The members of Performing Arts of St Philomena College and the NCC cadets presented various patriotic cultural events.

On this occasion, Principal of St Philomena Pre University College Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo, Warden of St Philomena College Men’s Hostel Rev. Fr Rithesh Rodrigues, Administrative Officer Col. Sanjay Apte, Subedar Major V Hariprasad and NCC officers and cadets from Dakshina Kannada and from Coorg District were present. Second Officer Venkataramana of Sainik School Koodige compered the programme. The Camp Adjutant and NCC Officer of the College Lt. Johnson David Sequeira coordinated the programme.
