Assam native arrested for stealing Rs 9 lac from shop in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru police have arrested a native of Assam for stealing over Rs 9 lac from a shop at Bibi Alabi road. The accused has been identified as Jaseemuddin alias Jasmuddin Lashkar).

Jasmuddin was an employee in a shop owned by Ismail at Bibi Alabi road. He allegedly stole Rs 9.25 lac from the shop and went absconding. A case in this regard had registred in Bunder police station.

The police led by Bunder inspector Shantaram who took up the investigation traced Jasmuddin to Goa, and with the help of Konkan railway police of Margoa, Jasmuddin was arrested within 48 hours of the crime.

Out of the total money stolen, Rs 9 lac was recovered from the accused. Jasmuddin spent the remaining Rs 25,000.
