Awarenees Programme on Enrollment of names in Voter List at St Philomena College Puttur

Puttur: Election Cell of St Philomena College Puttur in association with Puttur Taluk Office organized an awareness programme on ‘Enrollment of names in Voter List’ on August 10, 2017 in college auditorium.

The chief guest of the programme Mr. Shridhar K, Deputy Tahashildar, Puttur Taluk in his address said, ‘Election Commission of India has stated that every citizen of India, having completed 18 years age is eligible to enroll the names in the electoral roll.’

The resource person Mr. Nagesh, FDA, Election Cell, PutturTaluk Office in his presentation said, ‘The Republic of India is the largest democracy in the world. India is one of the second populous and seventh largest countries in terms of geographical area in the world. Election is the major event in the democratic system.’

The President of the programme Rev. Dr Antony Praksh Monteiro, Campus Director of the College said, ‘Leaders don’t do different things. They do things differently. Today most of the people are worried about their privileges and they forget their duties. Everyone must learn civic responsibilities and must become a good human being.’

Ms. Janani and team presented the prayer song. The BLO and the Library Staff Mr. John Lobo welcomed the gathering. Ms. Geetha Bhat proposed the vote of thanks. The convenor of the Election Cell Prof. Dinakara Rao compered the programme.
