Kundapur: In an unfortunate incident, Ganesh Poojary (46), a resident of Voderahobli ended his life by hanging himself from a tree. The incident occurred on Saturday December 24.
Ganesh was an ardent Ayyappa devotee. As is customary, he had taken a vow to undertake pilgrimage to Sabarimala along with other locals, and had begun to follow austerities connected thereto since the last about 40 days. On Saturday, his body was found hanging from a tree behind Eastwest Country Club here.
It is said that Ganesh was facing financial constraints, which had come in the way of undertaking visit to Sabarimala. It is said that the idea of sharing his financial problems with others and seeking help from friends was not acceptable to him. Locals said he seemed to have preferred to end his life rather than skipping the Sabarimala pilgrimage.
