BJP leaders detained over protest on Tipu Jayanti

Mangaluru: Several BJP leaders were detained by police on November 10 when they were protesting against the celebration of Tipu Jayanti opposite Zilla Panchayat. The leaders detained included Member of Parliament Nalin Kumar Kateel, former MLC Monappa Bhandary, District BJP chief Sanjeeva Matandur and Roopa D Bangera.

All the leaders and BJP workers detained were taken in four police buses. Section 144 is in force in the district.

Tipu Jayanthi is being celebrated in the state. BJP members are protesting all over state.
