Udupi: BJP Youth Morcha held protests near Clock tower on Friday condemning the statement by Karnataka state Congress president and Karnataka home minister Dr G Parameshwar. They set fire to the effigy of Dr G Parameshwar.

Karnatka Home Minister had stated that Prime Minister Modi should be burnt in connection with banning of currency notes.

Speaking on the occasion, former BJP district president Udayakumar Shetty said, "It is really sad that Parameshwar has given such a statement. His arrogance is not at all necessary. He should have not given such a childish statement that the Prime Minister should be burnt. We will therefore burn him. The statement is condemnable. He should apologize to the nation."
