Udupi: The Bharathiya Janatha Party staged a protest meet against the State Government’s failure strategy on license processing for building and house construction in Panchayat limits.  The protest was held at Jatka Stand near Service Bus Station at Udupi on Saturday, 28th March, 2015.

During the keynote address Udayakumar Shetty State BJP working committee member and former President of Udupi District BJP said that the work of 146 panchayats of the district is pending of near about 16000 applications and in the state around 2.5 lakhs applications. The gram panchayats stopped issuing licenses to construct the houses since 3 months. The notice was given on the basis of ban order to Narikombu grama panchayat in Bantwal Taluk. The state government failed to realize the gravity of the issue.
