BJP's agenda is to end the Congress Party - Dinesh Gundu Rao

Udupi: The BJP is trying to end the Congress Party in the country and it is their national agenda, said Dinesh Gundurao, Working President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).

He was addressing media persons in a press conference at District Congress Bhavan, Brahmagiri on Sunday, 18th September, 2016.

He said that BJP is playing dirty politics with the money power in the North Eastern states where BJP is trying to destabilize the North Eastern states including Arunachal Pradesh. He is criticizing the BJP party that it is doctoral agenda to destroy the Congress Party. RSS and BJP leaders are using photos of Ambedkar, Gandhiji, Swami Vivekananda and other leaders. BJP is blackmailing the people of the country which the party is hypocritical, said Dinesh Gundurao.

Earlier, during the address he said that he is visiting first time in Udupi District after the several visits to other parts of the district of the state as a party working President of the congress party. As per the KPCC meeting, the party is looking strong in the state with several programmes. On 27th September the party will chalk out various programmes to be taken. On 28th September there will be meeting of district panchayat members as well as some of the grama panchayat presidents of the state. People have lack of knowledge about the Panchayat Raj system and its rights. It will discuss also how centralized facilities available. It will also discuss the awareness among the people on government laws, programmes. On October 2 to mark the Mahatma Gandhiji Jayanthi Congress party will launch a mass contact programme in Vidurashwa Village in Chikkaballapur district.

On October 15th to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, former President of India, National Students’ Union of India will go to celebrate Students’ Day. Congress party to mark birth centenary celebrations of former Prime Minister of India, late Indira Gandhi Jayanthi various year long programmes will be chalked out from 19th November 2016 to 18th November 2017, he said. During her rule specially Karnataka state gained due to Land Reforms Bill, social security, Banks Nationalization and many more programmes who is one of the strong and successful prime minister of year.

Speaking with query of media persons in regard to former state home minister K. J. George, there is no connection between DySP Ganapathi suicide and K. J. George. But it is political conspiracy of opposition BJP. There was no need to resign from the state cabinet. But on moral grounds, K. J. George resigned. He knows that he didn’t do wrong to anyone. The government has no role in both Ganapathi case as well as IAS D. K. Ravikumar death cases.

Talking with his opinion on Janardhan Poojary’s various statements in regard to Congress Party, Dinesh Gundu Rao said that being a senior most leader of the party, it is better to stop giving various statements against the congress as well as Siddharamaiah, the Chief Minister. If necessary AICC will take action of him that he was the national former leader of the party. He said that the KPCC informed the central leadership and Digvijay Singh. They will look into the complaints on Poojary.

Dinesh Gundu Rao regarding the terror attack on soldiers at Uri in Jammu and Kashmir, he said central Modi government failed to combat the terrorism in the country. This is the third case the terrorist attacking our soldiers’ point. Prime Minister have some responsibility that the government should take strict action on infiltrators. In external policy issue Modi government completely failed to deliver the safety of our jawans. During the rule of congress party, under Dr. Manmohan Singh government criticizes the government regarding the safety of our soldiers. Why present Modi government is not serious about the Kashmir terrorism issues, he asked.

In regard to Cauvery water dispute, Dinesh Gundu Rao said that former Chief Ministers of BJP in Karnataka Yeddyurappa, Jagadish Shettar and Sadananda Gowda arguing that the Prime Minister has no role to play in water disputes while it is pending with Supreme Court. He said regarding the issue, BJP leaders have been making politics by not cooperating with the state government. BJP is playing politics in this issue which it has been trying to effect and damage the congress party. Like earlier Prime Minister, Modi also can do and intervene in the Cauvery water issue dispute.

During the press meet, Pramod Madhwaraj, Pratapchandra Shetty MLC, Gopal Bhandary former Karkala MLA, Manjunath State President of NSUI, Kadur Nanjappa KPCC leader, Sathish Ameen Padukere, Kishan Hegde Kolkebail, Ashok Kodavoor, Harish Kini, Sandeep Raj, Amrith Shenoy, Bhaskar Rao Kidiyoor, Shashider Padubidri and others among the congress leaders were present.
